Program

Description

The Montana milk bank receives donor milk and dispenses human donor milk to families throughout the state of Montana.

The Mothers' Milk Bank of Montana (MMBMT) collects, screens, pasteurizes, and dispenses human donor milk to medically fragile infants. MMBMT relies on generous donations from breastfeeding moms with extra milk.

Recipients of donor milk are most often babies with minor and major medical issues in cases where mom's own milk is not an option. If a family is requesting more than 40oz of donor milk, a script is required from the baby's pediatrician. Scholarship and sliding scale fees are available in cases where families are unable to afford donor milk. Medicaid will also cover the cost of donor milk for an infant under very specific criteria.

If you are interested in donating or receiving milk, call the milk bank directly at 406-531-6789 for more information.
